My name is Kimberly Lawton and I am an attorney in Ashland, WI that serves the needs of anyone finding themselves in tough legal situations from bankruptcy to divorce and more.
Education and Background
I attended University of Northern Colorado where I graduated with a degree in Psychology. While in college, I worked with people with developmental disabilities and the elderly as a personal care provider. Through these experiences I developed a passion for helping people through difficult times.
I chose to go to law school so that I could help people find a good resolution to difficult situations. I continued my studies at University of Nebraska - Lincoln, which consistently ranks in the top tier of law schools. I graduated with a Juris Doctor with Distinction and I ranked in the top of my class.
During law school, I won multiple awards including the Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, CALI- Excellence for the Future Award in Law of Provider and Patient, and CALI- Excellence for the Future Award in Land Use Planning.
Also during law school, I gained invaluable experience working as a law clerk for the Nebraska Attorney General where I represented the State in administrative hearings, wrote Appellate Briefs, and drafted contracts between the State and medical professionals.
I moved to Wisconsin right after graduating law school, and I became a licensed Wisconsin attorney after taking the Bar Exam. Since becoming a licensed attorney, I have successfully represented clients in hearings and court. I have a track record of being very knowledgeable and able deliver peaceful resolutions to tough situations.
My husband and I both enjoy spending time hiking, going to the Farmer's Market, and exploring the outdoors in Northern Wisconsin. I also love to read any time I get a chance.
My goal as an attorney is to be both a peacemaker and a problem-solver for each client. I offer cost-effective resolutions to your situation. Feel free to call or email if you have any questions or would like to set up a consultation.
